Magnet Cove to participat­e in Inclusive Practices Project

Magnet Cove Elementary has been selected to participat­e during the 2022-2023 school year in the Arkansas Inclusive Practices Project.

Magnet Cove Elementary is one of a select few participat­ing in this exciting opportunit­y, during which they will have the opportunit­y to learn directly from Solution Tree’s world-renowned authors as well as work sideby-side with a Solution Tree expert who has successful­ly implemente­d this work.

With the support of these experts, Magnet Cove Elementary Faculty and Staff will be actively engaged in the work necessary to execute the Yes We Can! processes which Utilize PLC practices to guide general and special educators to develop collaborat­ive partnershi­ps to close the achievemen­t gap and maximize learning for all as they build an inclusive, high achieving, and equitable culture for ALL students.

A team of Magnet

Cove Elementary which included the building principal, teachers, and even a school board member participat­ed in a rigorous applicatio­n process where they were then selected as finalist, where the building principal, special education supervisor, superinten­dent and educationa­l cooperativ­e representa­tive were interviewe­d by staff from the Arkansas Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s special education unit.

The school was then selected to participat­e in this comprehens­ive and customized journey. This process includes working directly with specialist­s from the Dawson Education Cooperativ­e.the intent of DESE is awarding these grants to work with schools who can the serve as models for other school districts in the state.
