AHSCA All-star Games return for 2022 at the University of Central Arkansas campus June 24-25

The Arkansas High School Coaches Associatio­n has announced its 2022 All-star games event for June 24-25 hosted on the University of Central Arkansas campus in Conway.

This year marks the return of the all-star event from its previous two year absence in 2020 and 2021.

The Arkansas Activities Associatio­n noted that the 2022 East and West AllStar game of baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball and football rosters— coaching staff and a full schedule of events can be viewed by visiting the Arkansas Activities Associatio­n website—ahsaa. org

2022 HSC ALL-STAR PARTICIPAN­TS

Back in January, the AHSCA announced the selected All Star staff and rosters for football, volleyball, cheer, and dance. Area standout student-athletes—jabri Artis of Malvern, Davis Dickinson of Magnet Cove and Chloe Whitley of Ouachita were amongst the elite Arkansas high school athletes selected as All-stars from their production while performing during the fall campaign of sports activities.

Artis and Dickinson were selected to the West All-star Football roster.

Artis, excelled as a proud team leader of the hometown Malvern Leopards football team with JD Plumlee as football head coach. Artis nabbed postseason football honors and earned 7-4A All-state and 7-4A All-conference, while helping the Leopards advance to the second round of the Class 4A state playoffs as a top five conference finish for another winning season for 2021.

Dickinson also earned 5-2A All-conference honors while performing for the Magnet Cove Panthers football team. During the 2021 football season, Dickinson contribute­d productive­ly on the gridiron by his presence and helped the Panthers soar to a unbeaten conference championsh­ip—earning a No. 1 seed in the postseason and advancing to the quarterfin­al round—under the direction of Magnet Cove football head coach Caleb Carmikle.

Whitley was chosen to the West All-star Cheer roster as a standout member of the Ouachita High School Warrior cheer team. Whitley was a part of the Ouachita Warrior cheer team finishing third place while competing in the Game Day Team competitio­n in the 1-2A Division at the 2021Arkans­as Associatio­n Activities State Cheer Championsh­ips hosted at the Bank OZK Arena in Hot Springs.

Whitley’s all-star selection makes history for the cheer program at Ouachita with Amy Fulmer as head cheer coach.

2022 AHSCA ALL-STAR COACHING STAFF

Brad Harris of Benton was selected as head coach of the West All-stars football team—assistant coaches are: Brey Cook of Pea Ridge, Drew Harris of Benton, Max Hotelling of Pea Ridge, Josh Jones of Lamar, Ricky May of Charleston and DJ Marris of Quitman.

Tom Sears of Hoxie was announced head coach of the East All-stars football team—assistant coaches are: Joe Besancon of Hazen, Bo Hembree of Warren, Steve Jones of El Dorado, Anthony Lucas of Pulaski Academy, and Cole Sears of Hoxie.

Christy Law of Alma was announced head coach of the West All-star cheer team with assistant coach Danielle Overton of Lavaca. Brooke Williams of Brookland was announced head coach of the East All-star cheer team with assistant coach Ashley Cooper of Cabot.
