Katie Edwards

Katie Sue Edwards age 90, of Poyen passed away Sunday June 26, 2022, at her home. She was born August 7, 1931, in Lake Village, Arkansas the daughter of Lee Andrew and Janie Lee Wimbley Dixon. Katie had retired from Wal Mart as a Department Manager after 20 years, and then work with Poyen School for many years. She was a faithful member of Poyen Assembly of God Church since 1954, where she led singing, taught Children Sunday School, led Booster Kids Band, and member of the Women’s Ministry. Katie was a prayer warrior, loved music and Poyen Sports.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry E. Edwards, daughter Gayla Ann Mccoy, grandson, Alex Mccoy, Siblings, Minnie Lou, Elizabeth, Georgia Mae, Ivy, Mary, Annie, Davis, Sylvester, Claude, Emmett, George, and Ray.

Survivors are her daughter, Joy Jensen (Michael) of Beebe, sister Juanita Hatcher of Pine Bluff, grandchildren, Brent Duck (Leeanna) of Florida, Kenneth Mccoy (Odessa) of Texas, Dustin Jackson of Texas, great-grandchildren, Rayne and Ransom Duck, Preston, Samuel, Taylor and Benjamin Mccoy and a host of nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters in Christ.

Visitation will be Wednesday June 29, from 6-8PM at Regency Funeral

Funeral Services will be Thursday June 30, at 1PM at Poyen Assembly of God Church with Reverends Jason Keisler, Michael Sullivan, and Larry Stinson officiating. Burial will follow in LindseyPoyen Cemetery.

Pallbearers are David Lengefeld, Andrew Gravitt, Dustin Morrison, Archie Mccoy, Doug Davis, Roger Stinson, Mason Pennington, Kenneth Mccoy.
