Homecoming Night Victory! Stafford duo explodes again......

Leads Beavers, Lady Beavers for home sweep against visiting Prescott Lady Beavers move to 7-1 in conf.

GLEN ROSE — A victorious occasion served its purpose on the court Friday as the Glen Rose Beavers and Lady Beavers celebrated victories on Homecoming night against Prescott at the Glen Rose Sports Arena.

BEAVERS 50 PRESCOTT CURLEY WOLVES 46

The Beavers pulled away with a 50-46 win against the Prescott Curley Wolves. Another huge scoring display from the Beaver hoopster Ethan Stafford blazed the net for 34 points, igniting two consecutiv­e 30 plus scoring outings in conference hoops. Stafford showcased a 3-point shooting clinic and swished five triples from beyond the arc against the Curley Wolves.

The Beavers trailed early 12-9 at the end of first quarter action— and still had a three-point deficit to the Curley Wolves at the conclusion of the second period 24-21 at halftime. But in the second half, the Beavers came alive and rallied with a productive spark to keep challengin­g the Curley Wolves throughout their match-up. Prescott outscored Glen Rose 8-6 in the third, which kept the Curley Wolves in command by only a one-point edge over the Beavers 30-29 at the end of three periods of action. In the fourth quarter, the firepower of Stafford and Ethan Cauffiel surged the Beavers to victory—outscoring Prescott 21-16. Stafford drained three triples from beyond the arc, while Cauffiel netted two triples for stout outside shooting. Stafford poured 14 of his 34 points in the fourth quarter while Cauffiel contribute­d seven points in the period. The Beaver duo combined for five 3-pointers (swished) in the fourth—leading to a huge four-point win and avenging their loss against Prescott in the first meeting to split their conference season match-up in league contention.

For the game, Beavers’ Cauffiel finished with 13 points for double-figures and Trace Bussell added three points by nailing a 3-pointer. Cauffiel knocked down four trifectas from beyond the arc.

LADY BEAVERS 55 PRESCOTT LADY WOLVES 30

In the nightcap match-up, the hot streaking Glen Rose Lady Beavers soared to a consecutiv­e conference win by sweeping their conference season match-ups against Prescott in a 25-point victory on homecoming night. Ashlee Stafford led all scorers with a dynamic explosion to pour 27 points through the net as the game’s top performer in double-figures. Stafford’s other dynamic partner Makayla Stevens finished with 10 points to create a duo of double-figures, while Ariany Sanchez added five points, Sydney Riggan, Hadley Hood and Kaitlyn Stevens each contribute­d three points apiece. The Queen of the Night—homecoming Queen Alexis Perryman chipped in four points to add her spark to Glen Rose’s dominant conference win, now improving to 7-1 in conference play. A collective team effort was ignited by the Lady Beavers as the bench cleared for valuable playing time against Prescott. The Lady Beavers held a 29-15 lead at halftime, then maintained a 21-point advantage 47-26 after the third period—and only adding eight points to finish off the Lady Wolves who chipped in four point in the final eight minutes of action.

Tonight, the Beavers and Lady Beavers return home for conference hoops hosting Genoa Central for the second meeting in their season match-up in league contention at the Glen Rose Sports Arena.
