More of Jesus

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls” ( Matthew 11: 28- 29). What this world needs is for more people to be more full of Jesus, and less full of themselves.

In Mark 11: 22 we find, “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God” ( Mark 11: 22). The Greek wording of this verse implies “Have faith not only IN God, but the faith OF God.” Jesus had that kind of faith, and he says that we can, too. How can we have the kind of faith that our Creator and His Son have?

Mark 11 continues: “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

When you need a miracle from God, whether it be a healing or whatever, don’t shoot yourself in the foot with your mouth! While praying, “Father God, in Jesus’ name, I need this mountain removed,” don’t say or think, “That mountain’s too big: God put it where it is. He will never move it.”

Don’t dwell on, and don’t repeat with your mouth, negative words spoken by your friends, your family, nor your doctor or other professionals. It’s YOUR mouth that you have the most control over. Let only positive words come out of it. “That mountain is not too big for my God to move.” And “In Yeshua Jesus’ name, mountain, begone!”

According to Jesus’ words in Mark 11, your prayers, your words, and your faith can move any mountain. Your part in the moving of that mountain is to speak it, believe it, and receive it.

Don’t believe me about this. Believe God. Read Numbers 13 and14, the whole chapters. Here’s the story.

Before leading his people into the Promised Land, Moses sent 12 Israelites into Canaan to spy out the place. Ten of those spies came back and spouted out negative words of discouragement. The adults of Israel repeated those negative words of Numbers 13: 31, “We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.”

Two of those twelve spies returned with a positive report: “Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.”

Of the thousands of adult Israelites, not counting children, there that day, every one of them got exactly what they spoke. Joshua and Caleb, with the young people, entered the Promised Land, and the rest of the adults died in the wilderness like they said they would. “As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you” ( Numbers 14: 28). Your words might just be a self- fulfilling prophecy.

What this world needs is for more people to be more like Jesus, and less like their old selves before Jesus Christ moved in. And too many others haven’t let Jesus move into their lives at all.

Also, most of us didn’t have parents and teachers who taught us by example to speak positive words of faith concerning our situations. Instead, they taught us to say, “My head is killing me.” And “God is too busy with bigger things in this world to worry himself over my troubles.” Hopefully, we’re learning to speak more like Jesus, and less like our old selves.
