Amelia B. De La O’, age 96 of Malvern, died Wednesday, January 25, 2023, in Little Rock after a brief illness. She was born on December 6, 1926, in Los Angeles, California to the late Manuel Bracamonte and Maria Uribe Bracamonte. Reared and educated in California, she had been a resident of Malvern since 2002. Mrs. De La O’ was the widow of the late Lawrence De La O’, to whom she was married on December 24, 1948, in Los Angeles. He preceded her in death on August 16, 2006. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Malvern. She was a talented seamstress and made clothes for her children and was very active in the PTA when they were young. She loved visiting with her friends and family, going to movies, shopping, and power walking. Since coming to Malvern, she always enjoyed going to the Senior Center.

Mrs. De La O’ is survived by her children, Marcos De La O’ ( Terri) of Mckinney, Texas, Veronica Jenkins ( Ward) of Kansas, Susan Taft ( Richard) and Delia Rubschlage­r ( Ralph), all of Malvern; three grandchild­ren, Kathleen Taft Gatlin of Little Rock, Zack Jenkins of Kansas, and Caleb Jenkins of Chicago; four great- grandchild­ren, Jack Gatlin, Michael Gatlin, Andrew Gatlin, and Mira Gatlin; and by a sister, Lydia Castro of Colorado.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Raul Bracamonte.

A Rosary will be recited and Mass will be celebrated at 8: 30 on Friday morning, February 3, 2023 at St. John The Baptist Church in Malvern with Father Mark Wood as officiant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Los Angeles, California.

Memorials are requested to the Malvern Senior Center.
