The Jr. Panthers pulled out a 20-point home win against the Jr. Lions 51-31.

Magnet Cove sparked early with a 20-5 first quarter surge against the Jr. Lions during the opening six minutes of action. At the break, the Jr. Panthers maintained their momentum and took a 12-point lead into the locker room over England 27-15 at halftime. England outscored the Jr. Panthers 10-7 in the second quarter, but Magnet Cove kept a double-digit lead at the conclusion of first half action.

In the third quarter, the

Jr. Panthers built a lead that wouldn’t allow the Jr. Lions to create a run and Magnet Cove outscored England 13-4 in the period. After three quarters of action, the Jr. Panthers led England 40-19.

In the fourth, both units posted in double-digit scoring, but the Jr.

Panthers netted

11 points that propelled a convincing victory despite England pouring in 12 points through the basket in the final period of competitio­n.

Barrentine shared the shine and dropped nine points apiece— Barrentine swished three triples from downtown beyond the arc during first quarter play. Isaac Tillery followed and drilled a triple in the first quarter to finish with seven points and Hunter Harrison added six points to knock down two triples from 3-point land. Kyle Henderson contribute­d four points apiece, Cash Highnight nailed a triple for three points and Jayden Eoko connected on two foul shots to score two points to help increase the margin to the Jr. Panthers’ 20-point spread in victory.

The Jr. Panthers are set to face Mt. Pine Jr. Red Devils to finish out the regular season before district tournament hoops take place.
