LTC Clyde Edward ( Eddy) Watson reported for Heavenly duty February 18, 2023. He was born on July 9, 1950 to Emily Ruth and the late Reverend Jimmy Watson. Eddy is a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University where he met his wife of 48 years Rita. He served in the US Army, Arkansas National Guard, and the US Army Reserves for a total of 37 ½ years. He always encouraged the future generation­s and honored those who served which led to the developmen­t of the Poyen Veterans Memorial. After retiring from the military, he worked for the IT department of the Arkansas State Police for 15 years.

He had a passion for fine arts including writing poetry, dramatic readings and even directed James Weldon Johnson’s “God’s Trombones” on multiple occasions including performanc­es while deployed to Baghdad.

Eddy joined his father and grandparen­ts in Glory and is loved and missed by his family including his mother Ruth; wife Rita; son Erik Watson; daughter Krista Moore ( Stephen); grandchild­ren Caleb Watson ( Annagrace), and Sydney and Aubrey Moore; brothers James Watson ( Bonnie), Matthew Watson ( Sandra), Obie Watson ( Janette); sister Cassie Price, brother- in- law Gary Edwards( Jeannie) and an army of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 22 at Regency Funeral Home from 6- 8PM. Funeral Services will be Thursday at 10AM at the Poyen Veterans Memorial Pavilion with Chaplain Terry Romine officiatin­g. Burial to follow at the Poyen Lindsey Cemetery. Pallbearer­s will be Bill Fewell, Bob Speer, Billy Speer, John Priebe, Sheylan Mooney, and Kevin Spurlin. Honorary pallbearer­s are the members of the Poyen Veterans Memorial Committee.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials to be made to the Poyen Veterans Memorial Committee, 40 Walker Lane, Poyen, AR 72128.
