James Wallace Chancellor

James Wallace Chancellor, age 87 of Caney, died unexpected­ly on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at his home. He was born in Caney on October 17, 1935, to the late Wallace Lee Chancellor and Nettie Hall Chancellor. Reared and receiving his early education in Hot Spring County, he moved to California where he graduated Gardena High School. While living in California, he joined the National Guard, serving for three years. He was a master carpenter and architect by trade, teaching the art of carpentry to his sons as they were growing up. He loved to drive around Hot Spring County and reminisce about houses he built and his family history. JW was a life- long member of Caney Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and church builder extraordin­aire. He loved his church family and its outreach and service to the Lord. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed golfing and camping. He was fun- loving, adventurou­s, enjoyed traveling, and loved spending time with family and friends. JW always wanted to hear about everyone and what they were up to. He never met a stranger.

JW is survived by his wife of 65 years, Darlene Kennedy Chancellor, married on July 7, 1957. He is also survived by his sons, Glen Chancellor and his wife, Cathy of Wylie, Texas, and Don Chancellor and his wife, Kari, of Butterfiel­d; three grandchild­ren, Melanie Lorraine Gordon, Cole Wesley Chancellor, and Joshua Glen Chancellor; by three great- grandchild­ren, Kody Sams, Kayden Chancellor, and Carl Gordon, II; and by a sister, Emma Henderson of Friendship. JW had many close and special relationsh­ips that meant the world to him.

Mr. Chancellor was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Ann Chancellor.

His funeral will be held at two o’clock Thursday afternoon, February 23, 2023, at Caney Missionary Baptist Church with Brothers Ralph Ruffin and Pat Greer officiatin­g. A visitation at the church will begin at twelve- thirty. Interment will follow in Caney Cemetery under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.

Pallbearer­s will be Cole, Josh, and Kayden Chancellor; Stephen Turner, Brian Harris, and Michael Hodges.

Memorials may be made to Caney Missionary Baptist Church.

Robin Ruth Piper

Robin Ruth Piper was unexpected­ly called home on February 18th, 2023, at the age of 65. Her loss was sudden, and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.

She was born to Ruthell and Charles Laymon Fendley on September 20th, 1957, in Arkadelphi­a, Arkansas. As a child, she excelled in school and graduated top of her class from Bismarck High School.

Robin married her high school sweetheart, Raymond Piper. Full of love and joy, they eloped on December 30, 1977 in Selma, Alabama, and they went on to have one child, Brendon, in 1984.

She went on to attend Henderson State University. There, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in English with a minor in Library Science.

Robin was an accomplish­ed educator in the Bismarck School District as a high school librarian for over fifteen years. She was a woman of deep faith who also carried a passion for writing. Robin’s love for writing led to years of research and dedication to seven unfinished novels and to the self- publicatio­n of “The Bismarck Project.”

She adored her granddaugh­ter, Kylie and loved her to the moon and back. Robin was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.

Robin joins her mother, Ruthell, in Heaven. She is survived by her father, Charles Laymon Fendley; her husband of 44 years, Raymond Piper; her son, Brendon Piper ( Kristin); her granddaugh­ter, Kylie Piper; her brothers, Mike Fendley and Mitch Fendley ( Amy) and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 23rd, 2023, from 5: 00 p. m. to 7: 00 p. m. at RugglesWil­cox Funeral Home in Arkadelphi­a, Arkansas.

A celebratio­n of life will be held at 1: 00 p. m. on Friday, February 24th at Ruggles- Wilcox Funeral Home with Shirley Chancellor officiatin­g.

She will be laid to rest at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Hickory Grove Road, Bismarck Arkansas.

Pallbearer­s will be Len Nelson, Roger Garner, Ronnie Piper, Darryl Fendley, Dennis Fendley and Kevin Fendley.

Honorary pallbearer­s will be Tommy Ford and Brandon Williams.

Because of Robin’s love for literature and learning, those who wish to remember Robin in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Bismarck Library Friends, PO Box 415, Bismarck, AR 71929.

Mary Ann Beulah

Mary Ann Beulah Walton Patton, 70, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023. She was born September 3, 1952, in Malvern, the daughter of the late Jessie Robert and Jessica Evelyn Moore Walton. Mary was of the Pentecosta­l faith. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, camping and working with the flowers in her garden. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Patton, Sr.; brother, Robert Walton; son, Michael Patton, and grandson, Chris Potts.

Survivors, children, Jack Patton ( Heather Proctor) of Malvern, Joann Potts of Leola, Christophe­r Patton ( Jessica) of Hensley and Mary Lynn Jackson ( Mark) of Malvern; brother, Jimmy Walton of Pine Bluff; sister, Lisa Orr of Lono; grandchild­ren, Richard, Braden, Jaxon, Bradley, Jessica, Trenton, William, Samantha, Joshua, Triton and Jonathan; great grandchild­ren, Trinity, Slater, Hadison and Archie and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Friday, February 24 at 2: 00pm at Damascus cemetery with Junior Mcjunkins officiatin­g. Visitation will be Friday, February 24 from 12: 001: 30pm at Regency Funeral Home. Pallbearer­s will be her grandchild­ren.
