Mary Ann Beulah Walton Patton

Mary Ann Beulah Walton Patton, 70, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023. She was born September 3, 1952, in

Malvern, the daughter of the late Jessie Robert and Jessica Evelyn Moore Walton. Mary was of the Pentecosta­l faith. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, camping and working with the flowers in her garden. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Patton, Sr.; brother, Robert Walton; son, Michael Patton, and grandson, Chris Potts.

Mary Lynn Jackson ( Mark) of Malvern; brother, Jimmy Walton of Pine Bluff; sister, Lisa Orr of Lono; grandchild­ren, Richard, Braden, Jaxon, Bradley, Jessica, Trenton, William, Samantha, Joshua, Triton and Jonathan; great grandchild­ren, Trinity, Slater, Hadison and Archie and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Friday, February 24 at 2: 00pm at Damascus cemetery with Junior Mcjunkins officiatin­g. Visitation will be Friday, February 24 from 12: 001: 30pm at Regency Funeral Home. Pallbearer­s will be her grandchild­ren.

Jackie Dale Clayton

Jackie Dale Clayton, 85, of Malvern passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Encore. He was born August 10, 1937, in Van Buren County, Arkansas, the son of the late Lawrence and Lema Sneed Clayton. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother,

Curtis Clayton. Jack was a long- standing member and deacon of Harmony Primitive Baptist Church in Donaldson.

Jack had his hand in many businesses during his lifetime. He loved working with the public and influenced many of Malvern’s youth throughout his many years in business. He will be remembered by many from his West Department Store, Western Sizzling and Clayton House days. Jack was always looking for the next business adventure.

Jack was a founding member of the Frontier Funtimers in Malvern and The Old Field Deer Camp in Rolla. He was a scoutmaste­r for Boy Scout Troop 21 in Malvern. He was active in the Malvern Chamber of Commerce serving once as President and he also served on the HSC Hospital Board.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Henrietta Clayton of Malvern; children, Phil ( Denise) Clayton of Mayflower, AR, Teresa ( Darren) Burroughs, Mike ( Stacy) Clayton and Debbie ( Michael) Thornton all of Malvern; grandchild­ren, Spencer Burroughs, Jacqueline ( Matt) Nutt, Bree ( J) Keith, Nicole Thornton, Devin Bradley, Savannah ( Rusty) Jackson, Mollie Thornton, Rianna ( Cullen) Nicodemus, Pake Clayton and Lane ( Baylie) Clayton; great grandchild­ren, Piper, Grayson, Arya, Bodhi, Sloane and baby girl, Nicodemus arriving in July

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23 from 5: 00- 7: 00pm at Regency Funeral Home.

Memorial service will be hold on Friday, February 24 at 10: 00am at Regency Funeral Home with Brother Dan Samons and Brother Neil Phelan, Jr. officiatin­g.

Virginia M. Lederer

Virginia M. Lederer, age 88 of Malvern, died Sunday, February 19, 2023 in Hot Springs. She was born on May 18, 1934 in Gassville, Arkansas to the late Clifton R. Morris and Ruth Conley Morris. Reared and receiving her early education in Mt. Home, she had been a resident of Malvern since 1988. Virginia graduated from the Arkansas Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1955, becoming a Registered Nurse. She served in the United States Air Force Nurses Corp from 1963 until her discharge in 1977. She was a Viet Nam veteran. After her service to her country, she worked at The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences for seven years, and retired from the John L. Mcclellan Veterans Administra­tion Hospital. Virginia was a member of First Baptist Church in Malvern, and attended the Ruth Sunday School Class. She was the widow of the late Fred Lederer, to whom she was married on May 14, 1988. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2012.

She is survived by two step- sons, Robert Lederer ( Bettie) of Hazen, Arkansas, and Roger Lederer ( Teresa) of Malvern; foster daughter, Cassandra Reyes of Houston; four step grandchild­ren, Amanda, Amy, Tara, and Brandi; three foster grandchild­ren, Kiaya, Eli and Jesse; six step- great- grandchild­ren, Kody, Kayden, Brysen, Ezra, Korea, and Tameah; two step- great- great- grandchild­ren, William and Zayvier; and two nephews, Ralph Winter and Clifton Winter.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday afternoon, February 25, 2023 at two o’clock in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home with Brother Billy Bartlett officiatin­g. A visitation will precede the service, beginning at one o’clock.

Her ashes will be interred in Conley Cemetery in Mt. Home at a later date.

Robert E. “Bob” Selph

Robert E. “Bob” Selph, 89, passed away on February 21, 2023, at Encore Healthcare and Rehabiliti­on in Malvern. He was born on February 14, 1934, in Donaldson, Arkansas, to Robert E. Selph Sr. and Minnie Selph.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gladys Hodges Selph, and a sister, Maxine Thomas. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Mattingly ( David); his son, Jerry Selph ( Kathy); six grandchild­ren, Lance Mattingly, Aaron Mattingly ( Meredith), Sara Gardner ( Jonathan), Andy Selph ( Julie), Todd Selph

( Angel), Mark Selph

( Beth); nine great- grandchild­ren, Corbin Etris, Cameron Mattingly, Caden Mattingly, Ethan Mattingly, Makayla Gardner, Caroline Gardner, Rachel Kate Newton, Luke Selph, Julia Selph; and numerous extended family and friends.

Bob was a member of Donaldson Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from Quachita High School in 1952 and went to work at Malvern Brick and Tile. After several years there he hired on as a laborer and worked up to a millwright at Union Carbide Corporatio­n where he was employed until he retired. He then had, more “time for hunting and fishing, two of his favorite pastimes.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 23, at 2: 00 at Donaldson Missionary Baptist Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service, and burial following at Ouachita Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Donaldson Missionary Baptist Church.

Pallbearer­s will be Lance Mattingly, Aaron Mattingly, David Mattingly, Andy Selph, Todd Selph, and Mark Selph.

Honorary Pallbearer­s are Sara Gardner, Jonathon Gardner, Julie Selph, Angel Selph, Beth Selph, and Meredith Mattingly.

Shirley Joe

Ms. Shirley Joe, 60, of Malvern, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023. She was born in Malvern, on January 2, 1963, to loving parents, Willie Lee Joe, Sr. and Exia Gean Yarbrough Joe.

Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Willie Lee Joe, Sr. and a brother, James Leon Joe. Her memory will be cherished by her mother, Exia Gean Joe of Malvern; siblings: Willie Lee Joe, Jr. of Madison, Wisconsin, Helen Joe Young ( Bobby) of Malvern, Doris Collins ( Rev. Philip Phillips

Philip Phillips, 84, of Benton formerly of Poyen passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023 at his home.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23 from 6: 00- 8: 00pm at Regency Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 25 at 11: 00am at Lindsey- Poyen Cemetery.
