J. A. Funk Funeral Home is located at 218 Ash Street in Malvern, is owned and operated by John Allan Funk. It is a fully staffed, full-service facility that more than meets the needs of those it serves and allows its clientele the opportunity to customize the funeral ceremony.

For those who want to arrange funerals in advance of need, the experienced staff is ready to assist in any way it can to ease the burden on a family. J. A. Funk Funeral Home’s insurance and prepaid funeral plans are underwritten by Security Plan Life Insurance Company in Little Rock.

Funk recently observed his 48th anniversary in the profession and is proud to be serving the people of his hometown. He is a fourth-generation Hot Spring County native. His late father, Bill Funk, who was Malvern’s chief of police for many years, was also a licensed funeral director, and his older brother, Jim, who recently retired back to Arkansas, gives his younger brother a helping hand working funeral services from time to time.

J. A. Funk Funeral Home is a member of the Malvern-hot Spring County Chamber of Commerce, the National Funeral Directors Association, the Arkansas Funeral Directors Association, and the Better Business Bureau.

The funeral home staff is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Regular business hours are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and as needed after hours and on weekends.
