The Ouachita River Art Guild

What is art? Art is a diverse range of human activity, and resulting product, that involves creative or imaginative talent expressive of technical proficiency, beauty, emotional power, or conceptual ideas, according to Wikipedia. In the Western tradition, the three classical branches of visual art are painting, sculpture, and architecture. Theatre, dance, and other performing arts, as well as literature, music, film and other media such as interactive media, are included in a broader definition of the arts.

The Ouachita River Art Guild was founded in January 2019, and became a non-profit 501(c)3 organization in 2021. Guild artists mediums include drawing, painting, colored pencil, watercolor, pottery, stained glass, woodworking, ceramics, printmaking, digital graphics, photography, and more.

The Ouachita River Art Guild of Hot Spring County prides itself on connecting with the community of Malvern and beyond. The guild was formed by local artist who wanted to increase the knowledge of art to residents of Hot Spring County.

The Art Guild has held a variety of workshops in recent years, including acrylic, watercolor, soap making, fused glass, gourd painting, and others. Ouachita River Art Guild has participated in several festival and events including, the annual Brickfest held in June and Alpaca Farm Days held in September. Along with The Hist-trOligy and Chamber Back to School Block party.

The Guild will be having a fun family art day on Saturday, March 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 418-B south Main Street in Malvern, Arkansas (above Cute AF). Ouachita River Art Guild is a 501(c)3 organization, yearly dues are $20 for adults and $10 for students.
