Ballet Arkansas’s 11th Annual Turning Pointe Gala, “Tango Rojo”

The Ballet Arkansas Board of Directors and event chairs Amber Bagley and Amy Galdamez are pleased to present “Tango Rojo,” the 11th Annual Turning Pointe Gala. Tango Rojo is a celebratio­n of South American dance, music, and cuisine and is this year's Argentine-themed Turning Pointe Gala. The Turning Pointe Gala is Ballet Arkansas's premiere annual fundraiser, in support of its profession­al artists, production­s, and education programs that touch the lives of tens of thousands of Arkansans each year.

This year’s event will be held on Saturday, April 1st, from 6:00 – 10:00 pm at Chenal Country Club, with emcees Dawn Scott and Adam Bledsoe. Attendees will enjoy a cocktail reception with live music by JAZZ R US and specialty drinks by Colonial Wines & Spirits, Tito’s Vodka, and Roxo Gin, a silent and live auction featuring stunning jewelry from Jones & Son among other items, a seated dinner and signature performanc­es by Ballet Arkansas, and dancing and live music provided by the Dizzy 7 band. Frank Lawrence, CEO of The Athletic Clubs, will be presented with the prestigiou­s “Above the Barre” Award for extraordin­ary community leadership and arts advocacy.

Ballet Arkansas was founded in 1978, and is ranked among the top 100 Ballet Companies in America by the Dance Data Project. The organizati­on presents an annual season featuring the classics, masterwork­s of American dance, and premieres by some of the world’s most visionary dance makers. Ballet Arkansas has touched the lives of nearly half-a-million Arkansans through its world-class programs and performanc­es, and this year alone, more than 40,000 will experience the beauty of a Ballet Arkansas performanc­e. The organizati­on’s beloved programs for k-12 audiences will introduce more than 3,000 children to the power and beauty of a live dance performanc­e, and its series of free performanc­es in public spaces across central Arkansas will reach more than 5,000.

Funds raised from the Turning Pointe Gala will support the expansion of the organizati­on’s statewide footprint through the touring of education and outreach programs and performanc­es, and will ensure Ballet Arkansas continues to present a roster of celebrated artists and repertory for all Arkansans to enjoy.

Tickets are $250 Individual and $2,000 for a Table Sponsor (10 guests).
