Lady Leopards ignite dominance of execution in shutout victory against HG, 8-0
MALVERN — On a career-high night Tuesday on David Alpe Field at Claude Mann Stadium, Gaibrielle Harper pulled out some magic to lead the offensive attack for the hometown Malvern Lady Leopards in a 8-0 shutout victory against
Harmony Grove Lady Cardinals in their season-home opener in soccer competition.
Harper ignited three goals scored for a career-high for Malvern.
Also to shine Tuesday,
Malvern’s Yahaira Jimenez nabbed two goals scored, with Mya Monroe, Ayanna Johnson and Edith Ruiz each sparking for a goals scored apiece to produce a stellar performance as a collective unit of execution in victory for the hometown soccer fans at Claude Mann Stadium.
Malvern’s stout defense kept the Lady Cardinals scoreless the entire 80 minute contest. The Lady Leopards held a 2-0 lead at halftime, then Malvern soared in the second half to account for six goals scored that enforced the sportsmanship rule to take effect at the 27:29 mark with a 6-0 lead.
Defensively, Lady Leopards’ goalkeeper Emily Moore maintained a high-iq of concentration for multiple saves as an enforcer in the goalie box.
Malvern soccer head coach Seth Roberts was ecstatic on how phenomenal the Lady Leopards took care of business in a dominating way offensively and defensively for a productive second half finish.
“The girls played very sluggish in the first half, almost playing down to their competition. The second half we moved the ball very well and maintained possession. Our passing and runs opened lanes for a big six goal second half,” Roberts said.
“I was proud of how they turned it around in the second half. I feel like that will keep the momentum pushing for a big match-up tomorrow with Arkadelphia,” Roberts said.
