The Apostle Trained Pastor - Difference #4.

- Stephen Paul Guest Columnist Stephen Paul, The Jesus Chapel / Thejesuschapel.com

This article presents the difference in an Apostle Trained Pastor, as compared to a pastor coming from a worldly Bible College or Seminary.

“Give a man a title, you ruin him. Give a man a calling, you free him”.

Apostolic faith demands that those who are given a Word from God, bring it forward. The Apostle Trained Pastor ensures that the Church remain open to receive all that God desires it receive. The Jesus Chapel Bible College stands on this Biblical reality, instructing its Pastor and Counsel students do the same.

Apostle Trained Pastors Never Hire A Board Or Use Committees Because They Serve God Not A Board.

There is a tremendous difference between a man called to serve God, and a person called to represent a board, which when denominational, contains a ‘Book of Order’ - which carries in it and brings forth the methodology by which the church is to run, and also, a ‘Book of Doctrine’ which men have created relative to their given standardized beliefs which have been approved and endorsed by the denominational hierarchy.

Today, over 220 denominations associated with the Christian faith exist. Each denomination has a standard statement of faith. The denomination hires or appoints a person willing to preach the limited doctrine of a given denomination, and should he violate the denominationally-approved doctrine, he would either be fired or receive a strong correction leading back to what that particular denomination holds as truth.

To comprehend the ‘fatal flaw’ in the practice of limiting what can be taught from the Word of God, to the flock of God, you must come to terms with the reality of the ‘fatal flaw’ found residing within denominational-doctrine, and hierarchy. For example;

The ‘Fatal Flaw’ Of Denominational-ism

In the beginning of the Church, at Pentecost, and in the book of ‘The Acts of the Apostles’ (Acts), no such thing as denominations existed. To discover the reality of how denominations came into being, we can use the concept of a Wagon Wheel. The Hub from which the entire wagon moves is the point the axle rests upon. Without the ‘Hub’, there is nothing to place the axle upon. In Christianity, Christ is the Hub - meaning, Christ is the center of all things Christian. Again, I repeat, there were no denominations in the early and original Church. Christ was the center of all Christian faith, doctrine, and practice. What Christ said we could do, we can do even today.

The church began to insert the denominational ideals of ‘lessening’ faith, doctrine, and Christian practices, as those who held leadership discovered that they themselves did NOT EXPERIENCE certain things promised of God - things that they lacked faith to believe and receive.

So, as an individual did NOT experience the gift of tongues, or any of many other gifts, he moved by envy, and attempting to cover his personal lack of faith, stated that tongues, or the gift he did not receive, stopped being given due to dispensational (Bible time-period) changes. Dispensations, being great movements of God, by God in the history of God’s plan of redemption.

Thus, a denomination was formed of those who held the ‘faith-less concept’ that tongues, etc... had ceased. This became known as “Cessation Theology”. And is in itself, the ‘Fatal Flaw’ found to exist in denominational-ism.

Over 220 denominations exist today, each has moved from faithfulness to the faith, that the Risen Christ sent the Holy Spirit to bring to remembrance, as ushered in at Pentecost (Acts 2).

If you can, picture a wagon wheel hub, but now with a single spoke attached. The spoke, by being attached to, yet extending away from the hub, would be found to have moved ‘AWAY FROM THE CENTER’. Moving away from the fullest and most viable things that Christ provided in the process.

Insert, and attach to the Hub of the wagon wheel 220 spokes, and you begin to see that each denominational spoke, or branch of Christianity, has in themselves, been a moving away from, yet trying to remain attached to Christ. Christ prophesied this would occur when He stated, “I am the vine, ye are the branches” John 15:5.

Full Faith is a return to the Hub, which is placing Christ in His rightful position as the ‘Root’ of Christianity... placing Christ as the center (Root and Hub) of all Christian thought, doctrine, and practice.

That a given denomination would attempt to ‘spiritualize’ the reality of their exit and departing FROM CHRIST, in an ‘away-motion’, reveals that they have already, and long ago, left their first love. That is the very thing that Christ gives warning NOT to do, in Revelation chapters two and three.

I will, for sake of keeping this article brief and to the point, present a closing argument in favor of following God, NOT a board or committee assigned to operate a Church and control what is ‘permissible’ in their hierarchies eyes...

The book of Jeremiah states that The Word Of God came to Jeremiah, instructing him to pass along Words from God ,to those who could hear (hear what the Spirit is/ was saying) and those who would not listen. The Words from God were to be given to all people, as assigned to Jeremiah by God. I invite you to read Jeremiah chapter one (Jeremiah 1:1,7) and see that The Word of God did, therefore, does, come to people, for a Divine purpose, which must be expressed to the Church.

Then, I task you with reading what God assigned Jeremiah to do and tell the people (Jeremiah 1:8-19) and ask yourself...isn’t it a good thing that Jeremiah did NOT live under the constraints of the modern church? If Jeremiah was living today, he would have had to go and seek permission from the church board, leadership committee, and uninspired, ungodly, illequipped, men found to control the denominational hierarchy. They would have said that Jeremiah was ‘exceeding the truths’ as set froth in the ‘all knowing’ doctrinal statement of faith found to represent that denomination.

Most Churches Are Nothing More Than Containment Centers For Christians.

Today, most churches are nothing more than containment centers for Christians, designed to keep the believers from going farther in the faith. Farther in comprehending all of the magnificent beauties offered them by God, and the far reaching promises granted in the eternal state, once redeemed. Truly, globally, believers are under-nourished on the realities of what God has prepared for them. This is why so many lose patience, exiting churches across the Christian experience.

I submit to you, that limits set in place by such as denominational-doctrinal statements, have cost the church much that God desire it receive. There are very valid reason that God would send a man who cannot, nay, will NOT be silenced by a denomination holding his pay check in its ‘spiritually-dirty hands’. This is the meaning of receiving ‘filthy lucre’ spoken in the Scriptures.

I thank God for the example set by Jeremiah, the weeping prophet. His obedience and willingness to rise, ‘un-afraid’ proves his love for God as above his love for his own safety.

I submit to you that today, the greatest sin in Christianity is the sin of self-preservation.

Self-preservation does NOT afford opportunity that The Word Of God be preserved upon the earth for generations to follow, in neither deed, nor practice. God is ashamed of those who deny His name, deny his Word, and who live cowardly, timed, uninspired, under-dedicated lives, in pre-tense of being one who follows Him. Christ Himself said, He cannot represent people found in such ‘low-estate’ before His Father.

So, ask yourself... How Important Is A Board As Compared To God?
