Lady Beavers ignite 4-game winning streak
GLEN ROSE — The Glen Rose Lady Beavers have ignited a four-game winning streak after capturing two wins in the Indian Classic, then shutting out Rose Bud 15-0 Monday and recently topping Camden Harmony Grove 7-3 Tuesday on the road in softball conference play.
The Lady Beavers fell short in a tough loss to Lake Hamilton 7-4 and in their second duel on the diamond this season to Magnet Cove 5-2 in the Indian Classic.

The Lady Beavers collected four hits in the frame against the Lady Wolves. Maddie Melhorn, Maci Carver, Kaylee Ellis, Madi Callison, and Zavery May (triple) each had a hit. Melhorn, Carver, Ellis, and Lilly Goss each drove in a run for an RBI. Emma Wright pitched six innings and struck out one batter and allowed 10 hits and four walks against the Lady Wolves.

In the Indian Classic, the Lady Beavers met their rival Magnet Cove for the second time on the diamond this season and fell short for a three-run defeat. Melhorn led at the plate with three hits and scored two runs with a triple. Emma Wright and Carver each collected a hit apiece with an RBI. May also powered for a hit in the frame. Wright pitched five innings and struck out three batters and allowed six hits from her work in the pitcher’s circle.

In the second match-up in the Indian Classic, the Lady Beavers secured a 11-run victory against Poyen. Melhorn and Avery Fikes (two doubles) led at the plate with two hits apiece. Melhorn scored two runs and drove in a run. Wright scored two runs, Carver had a hit and three RBIS, Ellis and Callison each collected a hit apiece. Fikes drove in five runs for five RBIS, Goss scored two runs and had a hit. Olivia Launius drove in a run for an RBI and May scored a run.
Wright earned the victory and pitched three innings and struck out four batters.

For the final game of the Indian Classic, the Lady Beavers outplayed Hazen for the four-run victory. May led at the plate with two hits and drove in four RBIS and sparked for a run. Wright, Carver, Ellis, Callison, Fikes and Launius each collected a hit apiece. Callison and Ellis each had two RBIS apiece, Carver and Wright each scored two runs apiece. Wright earned the victory and pitched four innings and struck out five batters.

On Monday, the Lady Beavers captured their home victory by shutting out Rose Bud. Wright earned the shutout victory in the circle, and struck out three batters in only three innings of work in the circle.
Offensively, Melhorn led at the plate with three hits and drove in four runs for four RBIS and scored two runs. Wright collected two hits and drove in two runs for two RBIS and scored a run. Carver scored three runs, Ellis scored two runs, Callison drove in a run and scored two runs. Fikes and Goss scored a run and drove in a run for an RBI. May had a hit and scored two runs and drove in two RBIS while Sydney Riggan drove in a run for an RBI.
GLEN ROSE LADY BEAVERS 7 CAMDEN HARMONY GROVE 2
In their return trip on the road Tuesday, the Lady Beavers defeated the CHG Lady Hornets in a seven inning duel on the diamond in softball action. Wright earned the victory and pitched seven innings and struck out three batters from her damage in the circle. Melhorn led the offense and collected two hits and scored two runs and drove in a run for an RBI. Ellis collected two runs and scored a run and had two RBIS, Carver had a hit and scored a run—fikes scored a run and had an RBI while Riggan had a hit and drove in a run for an RBI.
