Tri-county Fair, Mammoth Lakes Film Festival,
Headlined by Wynonna Judd, fair promises to be best yet
The beloved Tri-county Fair kicks of this Thursday in Bishop after a one-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic last year and it promises to be best yet, headlined by Wynonna Judd, the famous Destruction Derby and some bran new events such as a Cattle Drive down Bishop’s Main Street.
It all begins on Thursday with Opening Day specials and gets better each night, fair organizers said.
Grandstand Entertainment this year includes the Wrestling Warriors (Thursday), the Legendary Wynonna Judd (Friday), the Open Rodeo (Saturday) and the infamous The Destruction Derby (Sunday), the fair organizers said. “Come join us Sunday night, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. for one of the most popular events at the fair, the Destruction Derby.
“Listen to the engines rev, smell the smoke, hear the crowd cheer, feel the excitement as the various divisions and heats enter the arena and fight ’til the last vehicle is running. You don’t want to miss it!”
New this year is the Tri-county Fair Parade and Cattle Drive as well, they said. “We’re kicking off Saturday with a small-town parade led by longhorn cattle down Main Street,” they said. “Saturday is also local vendor day where we will showcase not only the regular fair vendors, but local vendors too. Please come out and support them!”
Butler Amusements has been providing the Carnival Midway for the Tri-county Fair for over 15 years. They provide a wide variety of major, family and kid-friendly rides, fun Midway games and a clean and professional presentation for our guests. Come out and enjoy the thrills and fun of the midway at the Tri-county Fair!
Don’t forget the fair food; Blossoming Onions, Kettle Corn, iced drinks, corn dogs and other traditional fair food will be available, plus some new items.
This year’s theme is “Celebrate the Bounty of our Counties” and indeed, it will. It’s a time to showcase and celebrate the talents and achievements of all local communities with hundreds of examples of local crafts, fine art, cooking, livestock competitions and more on display.
“Plus, our strolling entertainment will have something for everyone! We have magicians, clowns, jugglers, stilt walkers, puppets, wood carvers, etc.”
