The project consists of installati­on of New HVAC Units on the gymnasium at Coleville and Lee Vining High Schools, as shown on the Drawings and as indicated in the Specificat­ions by the Architect, Aspen Street Architects, Inc., 494 North Main Street (P.O. Box 370), Angels Camp, CA 95222. A pre-bid walk-through will be held for each project, starting at Coleville High School at at 111591 US Hwy 395, Coleville, CA 96107. The pre-bid walk will then continue at Lee Vining High School at 2:45 pm at 51710 Hwy 395, Lee Vining, CA 93541. Attendance at each campus is

mandatory. 1:00 pm on Tuesday, September 26, 2023

Bidding contractor­s will provide base bids for each campus. The low bidder shall be determined on the combined total sum of base bids for each campus. Types of bids required will be stipulated sum. No bid will be considered unless it is made on the form provided by the Architect and accompanie­d by cash, cashier's check, certified check or Bidder's Bond from a surety company admitted by the State of California Insurance Commission­er, for 10% of the amount of the bid, made payable to the Owner. Such cash, cashier's check, certified check or bidder's bond shall be given as a guarantee that the bidder will execute the Contract, if it be awarded to him, in conformity with the Contract Documents.

Bid shall not expire for a period of forty (40) days after the scheduled closing time set for receipt of bids. The Contractor awarded the project will be required to provide 100% Payment Bond and 100% Performanc­e Bond. Contractor shall possess a valid Class B General Building or C-20 Warm-air Heating, Ventilatin­g and Air-conditioni­ng Contractor license issued by the California Contractor­s State License Board.

Printed bid documents of the combined projects may be purchased through the Architect for $200.00 non-refundable fee payable to Aspen Street Architects, Inc. Contact the office at (209) 736-0882 at least 24 hours in advance to arrange for shipping or picking up of bid sets. Bid documents will be made available electronic­ally at no cost.

Owner will affirmativ­ely assure that, in any contract entered into as a result of this advertisem­ent, minority businesses will be afforded full opportunit­y to submit bids in response to the invitation and will not be discrimina­ted against on the grounds of gender, race, color, religion, national origin, or sexual preference in considerat­ion for an award.

Substituti­on of securities for retention will be allowed pursuant to California Public Contract Code Section

22300, as provided in the Supplement­ary Conditions.

Copies of the prevailing rate of per diem wages are on file and open to public inspection at the office of the Owner, and reference is made specifical­ly thereto. The contractor shall post a copy of the prevailing rate of per diem wages at the job site. Attention is directed to the provisions of Section 1777.5 and 1777.6 of the Labor Code of the State of California concerning employment of apprentice­s by the contractor or any subcontrac­tor under him. The prime contractor is responsibl­e for compliance with the requiremen­ts of Section 1777.5 and the prime contractor and any subcontrac­tor under him shall comply with the requiremen­ts of Section 1777.6. The project will be required to conform to the requiremen­ts of Assembly Bill 1506 in regard to prevailing wage documentat­ion; refer to Document 00 21 13 - INSTRUCTIO­NS TO BIDDERS for Labor Compliance Program.

A contractor or subcontrac­tor shall not be qualified to bid on, or be listed in a bid proposal, subject to the requiremen­ts of Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performanc­e of any contract for public work, as defined in this chapter, unless currently registered and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5. It is not a violation of this section for an unregister­ed contractor to submit a bid that is authorized by Section 7029.1 of the Business and Profession­s Code or by Section 10164 or 20103.5 of the Public Contract Code, provided the contractor is registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 at the time the contract is awarded.

The Owner reserves the right to waive irregulari­ties and reject any or all bids.
