Grateful to all who made return to campus possible

-

As a member of the Redwood High School student body, I want to show my appreciation for the Tam Union High School District teachers and administrators for all their hard work and effort put toward getting us back in school.

It’s been a difficult year to navigate and I know that getting us back to in-person school safely was not an easy task. Getting to meet my teachers in person and sit among my peers in the classroom is an amazing opportunity. It is one I will never again take for granted.

The enthusiasm on my teachers’ faces, as well as the excitement my friends and I shared as we walked onto campus for the first time in a year, provided unforgettable moments. Although we still have a long way to go before things are back to normal, simply having the opportunity to see other students and connect with people is reason enough to be grateful to be back in school.

As a year has flashed by and we have been stuck joining Zoom after Zoom, day after day, barely leaving the confines of our rooms, any student would tell you now that getting to go to class in person is a privilege and something to look forward to.

I am beyond grateful for my teachers who are willing to come to school and teach us in person amid a global pandemic so that our education and high school experience can return to what it once was.

As athletic competitions begin, classes start to take place and more vaccine doses are administered, I am hopeful for the future and excited for what the rest of 2021 will bring for students, teachers, athletes and society.
