Track record shows Trump’s destruction

Recently, former President Donald Trump issued a press release in which he implied that the country is being destroyed by the Democrats. I wonder where he’s been for the past four years. He and the GOP have literally done everything in their power to actually destroy our country.

On his watch, the Department of the Interior has dismantled almost all safeguards against environmental degradation, toxic air pollution and climate change (which virtually all scientists agree is the greatest existential threat society will face in the next half century). In fact, it dismantled more than 100 laws critical to the protection of our lands. Under Trump, the Environmental Protection Agency became known as the “Environmental Pollution Agency.”

He refused to accept defeat in an election that even most Republican officials have stated was without fraud. He incited an insurrection attack on our Capitol in an attempt to overthrow our democracy. On top of that, he holds some responsibility for allowing the COVID-19 pandemic to sweep across the country by delaying and denying it for so long. He then eschewed masks and social distancing, which could have prevented its destructive spread. When vaccines were produced, he had no plan for their equitable distribution.

Yet he has the utter gall to claim it’s the Democrats who are destroying the country? That’s rich.
