Art for kids in need
DrawBridge is an arts program for homeless children. Your donations help children who are underserved or experiencing homelessness thrive in an environment that fosters their sense of childhood joy, creativity and self-confidence. Help job seekers
The Center for Employment Opportunities welcomes volunteers to help with resume writing, interview workshops and apprenticeships. Due to COVID-19, some volunteer opportunities are conducted virtually. Find information at ceoworks.org/volunteer-opportunities.
Support vital services
St. Vincent de Paul Society of Marin County accepts donations to help the organization continue to serve the county’s most vulnerable people. Guide dogs for youth
Guide Dogs for the Blind has a new program starting in April that features Zoom workshops for youth who are exploring the guide dog lifestyle. These workshops are designed for youth who are blind or visually impaired along with their parents or legal guardians. Guide Dogs for the Blind provides services to clients free of change. The work is made possible through generous donor support and volunteers. Find information at guidedogs.com.
Virtual bird watching
Point Blue Conservation Science will present “Bird in the Hand,” a virtual nature journaling experience at its Palomarin Field Station, on April 8, 12-1:30 p.m. Join avian ecologist Renee Cormier to see how birds are captured, banded, measured and released. Club fosters creativity
Boys and Girls Club of Sonoma-Marin has launched “Create & Celebrate,” a monthly art and writing contest open to all students ages 5-18 in Sonoma and Marin counties. The goal is to inspire young people to engage in creative activities they can do at home or at its clubs, and develop their voice through selfexpression by exploring themes of social advocacy. Fundraiser for mothers
Center for Domestic Peace will present its annual fundraiser, “In Celebration of Mothers,” a virtual experience this year on May 6, 5:30-7 p.m. It will feature keynote speaker Valerie Kaur, a civil rights activist, lawyer, award-winning filmmaker, educator, author and Sikh American voice.
