John Leddy Glossinger, 82, passed away suddenly at Marin General Hospital on March 17, 2021.

John was born in Chicago on May 6, 1938 to Margaret and John Glossinger. He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity at Iowa State University in Ames, IA and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematic­s.

He was a proud member of the United States Navy and taught at the Nuclear Power School on Mare Island from 1961-1965. He later earned his MBA from Golden Gate University.

It was in Vallejo that John met the love of his life, Bonnie Murray. They married in April 1966.

John worked for several corporatio­ns, including the Corning Glass Works, before purchasing Contempora­ry Kiln, Inc. It was through Contempora­ry Kiln that John worked with Japanese clients and developed a lifelong interest in Japan and China, where he traveled extensivel­y for business and pleasure.

John had many interests and talents. John and Bonnie traveled the world with a group of close friends. He volunteere­d with the Educationa­l Tall Ships (Call of the Sea) in Sausalito, working on the Matthew Turner; he was a proud member of the Marin Zeppelin Society; and he served as the President of the Mill Valley Little League in the early 1980s.

John is survived by his wife, Bonnie; and sons, James of Greenbrae and Michael of Pensacola, FL. He also is survived by his sister, Ann Ignacio of Sioux City, IA; his brother, Tim Glossinger of Hammond, LA; cousin, James Paullin of Forest Knolls, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
