John L. Glossinger

May 6, 1938 - March 17, 2021

John Leddy Glossinger, 82, passed away suddenly at Marin General Hospital on March 17, 2021.

John was born in Chicago on May 6, 1938 to Margaret and John Glossinger. He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity at Iowa State University in Ames, IA and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.

He was a proud member of the United States Navy and taught at the Nuclear Power School on Mare Island from 1961-1965. He later earned his MBA from Golden Gate University.

It was in Vallejo that John met the love of his life, Bonnie Murray. They married in April 1966.

John worked for several corporations, including the Corning Glass Works, before purchasing Contemporary Kiln, Inc. It was through Contemporary Kiln that John worked with Japanese clients and developed a lifelong interest in Japan and China, where he traveled extensively for business and pleasure.

John had many interests and talents. John and Bonnie traveled the world with a group of close friends. He volunteered with the Educational Tall Ships (Call of the Sea) in Sausalito, working on the Matthew Turner; he was a proud member of the Marin Zeppelin Society; and he served as the President of the Mill Valley Little League in the early 1980s.

John is survived by his wife, Bonnie; and sons, James of Greenbrae and Michael of Pensacola, FL. He also is survived by his sister, Ann Ignacio of Sioux City, IA; his brother, Tim Glossinger of Hammond, LA; cousin, James Paullin of Forest Knolls, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
