Erma Katherine Parsons

Erma, resident of San Rafael, passed away at the age of 94, at a retirement home in Marin.

She was born in San Francisco. Erma, mom, dad and brother, moved to San Rafael when she was five years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Denis Parsons; and her brother, Gimi Sessi. She leaves her loving daughter, Denise Parsons; loving sister Rosalia Sessi Achziger; special nephew Mike Parsons; special nephew Matt Sessi; special niece, Nancy Sessi Tallent; and many more nieces and nephews.

Erma and Denis were married for 64 years. They were truly in love and lived a very happy, fulfilling life. They enjoyed traveling, attending social events and supporting community organizati­ons.

During World War II, Denis was in the 101st Airborne and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, Denis was involved in the Airborne Associatio­n and they traveled throughout the United States and Europe. Erma had a dream “to build a memorial dedicated to recognize all the military personal that fought for our freedom in World War II.” She formed a committee to raise donations required for funding and build a memorial honoring “All Who Served.” The memorial is on the “Avenue of the Flags" at the Marin Civic Center.

Erma was a member of: Marin County Rose Society, Marin County Historic Society, Stinson Beach Historical Society, Stinson Beach Community Center, and the San Rafael High School Alumni Associatio­n.

Service for Erma will be held Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Please call Monte’s Chapel of the Hills, 415-453-8440 for place of service. RSVP required.
