Two women were arrested this week after a teenager was shot in the leg in San Rafael early Tuesday.

San Rafael police received a call from a convenience store clerk in the 900 block of East Francisco Boulevard at about 3:30 a.m. The clerk said a teenage male walked into the store with a gunshot wound in his leg, Lt. Dan Fink said.

Officers arrived and found the victim, 17, with a gunshot wound in his left upper thigh. He was transported to a local hospital, treated for his injury and released, Fink said.

Police said the victim told them he was in the area of Medway Road and Belvedere Street about an hour earlier and was approached by a woman. He got into a vehicle and traveled with two women to a parking lot at Grand Avenue and East Francisco Boulevard.

The victim said he argued with the women, one of whom pulled a gun and shot him in the leg, according to officers. The victim exited the car, and the women left. He said he walked to the convenience store.

Further information was not released.

San Rafael detectives obtained video footage of the suspects and contacted area law enforcement agencies, Fink said.

Antioch officers stopped a vehicle early Wednesday and contacted San Rafael detectives, who took the suspects into custody and impounded the vehicle, Fink said.

Alaytreya Gregory, 28, of Sacramento was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, robbery and aiding a prostitute. Satearah Murphy, 31, of Sacramento, was arrested on suspicion of robbery, prostitution and aiding and abetting a felony. Both were booked into Marin County Jail.
