After attending Tamalpais High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force at the age of 16, where he was responsible for guarding nuclear operations during his service.

Jack started his civilian life working as a radio dispatcher and then a police officer for the County of Marin. He went on to manage Nave Lanes in Novato where he found his second family. Jack’s relationship with the Nave brothers was so close that he considered himself one of the brothers. He went on to work for Coldwell Banker, Wells Fargo Bank and Bank of America. While on assignment with Bank of America in Tennessee, he met and fell in love with Yvonne Walker. They were married in Southern California in 1977. He retired from Bank of America in 1995 as Vice President of Investment Real Estate.

When Jack and Yvonne weren’t traveling the world, they loved to play golf at

Marin Country Club, where Jack was a board member. He also served on the boards of Marin Abused Women Services, Marin General Hospital and the San Francisco Girls Chorus. Jack became President of the S.F.G.C. in 2002 after serving 14 years on the board. Working with the S.F.G.C. was his most passionate and notable endeavor.

For the past 44-plus years, Jack was loved and respected by many for carrying the message to the alcoholic who still suffered. He shared his love, gratitude and respect with the many, in Marin, Sacramento, Southern California and around the world, who walked this path with him. He had a special place in his heart for helping those incarcerated at Mule Creek

State Prison. He loved God and the 12 steps.

Jack held a strong commitment to his faith and was very involved in the church. As a member of St. Isabella’s, he enjoyed being a Eucharistic Minister. As a Eucharistic Minister, he was able to bring holy communion to the ailing parishioners as well as those who were unable to attend Mass. He will forever be remembered for his larger than life personality, his wisdom, his compassion and his commitment to helping others.
