Benefit concert at Sweetwater
The Music Heals International All-Star Benefit,
benefitting the Rob Wasserman Memorial Fund, will be
held at Sweetwater Music Hall, 19 Corte Madera Ave.,
Mill Valley, on Tuesday, Nov. 23, show 8 p.m., doors
open at 7 p.m. Performers will include DJ Logic, Jay
Lane and Dave Ellis from RatDog, and the MHI AllStars featuring Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz, Mookie Siegel,
Elliott Peck, Paul Beaubrun, Steve Adams, Jamie Clarke,
Grant Harrington and more. General admission is $150.
VIP tickets for $250 include early admission, dinner
by Chef Rick Hackett and premium wines served 6–7
p.m. Proof of full vaccination is required as is proof of
negative COVID-19 test within 24 hours. Music Heals
International is a nonprofit organization that brings
free music education to communities in Haiti and now
India, in partnership with CORE, Little Kids Rock, and

Calling high school artists
The 2022 Creative Youth Awards recognize and
support Bay Area youth artists through professional
creative feedback and cash awards. Submissions are
open to Bay Area high school students. It’s free and
open to artists, photographers, musicians, composers,
filmmakers and writers. The deadline is Jan. 7.
Winners will be announced at the Creative Youth
Celebration in late spring 2022. For information, visit

Hearing loss support meetings
Hearing Loss Association of America North Bay
of California chapter was founded in 2018 to serve
people in Marin and Sonoma counties. Its mission is to
improve the world of communication for people with
hearing loss through information, education, support
and advocacy. Captioned Zoom meetings are held on
the second and fourth Thursday of the month. For

Heart of Marin nomination period
Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership has
opened its call for nominations for the 29th Annual
Heart of Marin Awards. Heart of Marin gives $35,000
to outstanding nonprofits and the committed leaders
who serve them. Nominations are accepted in the
following award categories: Lifetime Achievement,
Excellence in Leadership, Achievement in Nonprofit
Excellence, Corporate Community Service, Excellence
in Innovation, Excellence in Board Leadership, Youth
Volunteer of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year. The
awards ceremony and luncheon will take place Jan. 13,
11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Bill and Adele Jonas Center at the
College of Marin in Novato. Tickets will go on sale soon
at cvnl.org. The 29th Annual Heart of Marin Awards
will be a hybrid, in-person and virtual, event with
limited in-person seating for fully vaccinated attendees.
