Stuart Alan Schneider
July 8, 1928 - January 30, 2022
With daughters Lisa and Layne alongside, Stuart peacefully passed at his San Rafael, CA home without pain and regret.
Following graduation from Lincoln High in Seattle, and a short apprenticeship at the Blanchard Boat
Company, Stuart enlisted in the Marines in 1946. Before deployment the war ended. He wanted to continue to serve and joined the Naval Air Reserve as an on-flight photographer. He said he "never had to shoot or be shot at," but always honored those who had.
With a BA degree from the University of Washington, he began in sales in Seattle, Washington at Blake, Moffitt & Town, a paper supplier and printer with 18 divisions. After becoming the top producer, he was elevated to the marketing and national accounts manager in San Francisco.
Stuart married Carol Marie Noren in 1952. Until her death in 2015, always curious and in wonder, they travelled extensively in the Americas, Eurasia, Africa and many spots between. They loved hiking at Point Reyes and the Sierras, birding, meeting new friends through Elder Hostels, Audubon and volunteering at Marin County special events. Stuart loved cars, boats and planes. When he was a bit younger he was a fast runner and snow skier. His camera documented most all of his adventures.
Stuart followed his brother Harry, parents Norman and Vera. His Marine words, "Carry on!" to son Steven, daughters Lisa and Layne; granddaughters Angela, Elizabeth and Laura; grandsons David, Christopher and Nic; six great-grandchildren; niece Jody and nephew Gary.
His ashes will be joined with Carol’s upon the waters of Hood Canal, Washington.
His last wish: "Take care of each other."
