-

After playing in one of the biggest volleyball matches in the country on Friday night, Marin Catholic and Redwood both hit the road immediately to compete in the Stockton Tournament on Saturday.

MC advanced with the other three group winners, losing to Archbishop Mitty in the first game then falling to Monte Vita to land fourth.

Redwood and Branson — who are set to meet in a game Friday to decide the MCAL title — got a preview of that contest by meeting in the first round of the second-place bracket. Redwood emerged with a 24-26, 25-12, 15-7 victory.

The Giants fell to St. Mary's to finish in sixth. Branson lost to Amador Valley to finish in eighth.
