Branson baseball stuns Archie Williams

Branson put together a four-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning to stun Archie Williams 1110 on Friday.

Kaden Gustafson knocked in the winning run, capping a rally that included run-scoring plays by Charlie Zwibleman, Liam Parrot and William Ashley.

Norm AuYeung and Ashley had three hits and scored three runs apiece to pace the Bulls (8-5, 4-4 MCAL). Luke Shane drove in three runs.

Charlie Scola led the way for the Peregrine Falcons (47, 3-5) with three hits and three runs. Ryan Boggs had two RBIs.

• Kaiden Dossa had two hits, two RBIs and scored once to lead Tam to a 6-0 win against Terra Linda on Friday. Tam (7-7, 5-2) also got two RBIs from Miles Gensler. Tam scored once in the first, three times in the second, then twice in the sixth. Pitcher Henry Simpson allowed five hits and struck out four in six innings of work. Ben Butler had a hit for TL (1-11, 0-5) and pitched 5.1 innings of two-run relief.

• Carl Schmidt had two hits and scored the goahead run in the bottom of the third inning as Marin Catholic defeated San Marin 2-1 on Thursday. The two teams are set to play each other again on Saturday at Oracle Park in San Francisco. Both teams got strong performanc­es from their pitching on Thursday, with MC's Gavin Simurdiak going the distance while allowing four hits, one earned run and striking out six. Sean McGrath worked six innings for San Marin, allowing five hits, two earned runs and striking out seven. Jayden Lee drove in the winning run for MC (71, 4-1) with a single in the third after Schmidt led off the inning with a triple. Hayden Devol had a pair of hits for San Marin (6-5, 4-3).

• Hank Figueroa went 2 for 2 with a home run, a triple and four runs scored to lead San Domenico to a 23-6 win against Tomales. Alex Tavano and Oliver Swain posted identical lines of three hits, three runs and three RBIs apiece.

Prep softball

Giselle Flores broke open a close game with a two-run double, helping Novato roll to a 14-3 win against St. Vincent on Friday. Pitcher Brooke Younkin came on in relief and threw 4.2 innings of no-hit ball with six strikeouts. Seanna Madsen had two hits, including a triples. Claire Hannan had two hits and scored three times.

College softball

Dominican University scored three times in the bottom of the seventh and one more time in the eighth to walk off with a 6-5 victory against Hawaii-Hilo on Friday.

The Penguins (10-11, 7-3 PacWest) won both games of the doublehead­er. Annabelle Burke and Lauren Lapinid had run-scoring hits in the seventh inning. Marina Medina had a sacrifice fly in the eighth to win the game.

Shelby Keltner pitched the eighth inning to earn the victory. Keltner also had four hits and two RBIs across the two games.

Prep swimming

Redwood posted a sweep against Archie Williams with the girls winning 10260 while the boys posted a 98-85 victory.

Mia Solomon (50 free, 100 fly) and Adeline Turner (200 free, 100 back) were double winners for the Giants on the girls side. Harry Wait (50 free, 100 fly) and Nick Scruton (200 free, 500 free) won two events each on the boys side.

Boys volleyball

Ben Chamberlai­n dished out 12 assists and O'Marion Beard had nine kills to help San Rafael rally for a 3-2 victory against San Marin on Thursday. Leo Datnow added eight digs for the Bulldogs (1-4, 1-4) and Rafa Tagliari had four kills, three digs and three aces.

Girls lacrosse

Archie Williams picked up a 13-6 victory against San Rafael on Thursday.

The Bulldogs got two goals each from Jasmine Luria and Francesca San Diego.

• Branson (4-3, 2-1 MCAL) picked up a 13-10victory against Novato on Thursday.

Boys golf

Brody Root, Jack Mount and Arjun Aujla turned in quality rounds to lead Redwood to a pair of victories at Peacock Gap, 196-216 against Tam and 196-282 against San Rafael. Root shot a 36, Mount shot a 38 and Aujla shot a 19. Ben Friedman led the way for Tam with a 39 and Kai Payne paced the Bulldogs with a 50.

Prep badminton

Cici Lin and Martin Peng won the decisive match at mixed doubles, lifting San Domenico to a 5-4 win against University on Thursday. The Panthers (5-0 in league) also got singles wins from Becky Xiang and Yohan Hong.

Boys tennis

Redwood swept the three doubles matches to pull out a 4-3 victory against Tam in a battle between shorthande­d teams. The teams of Hayden Gerber/Jackson Adams,

Jackson Bramlette/Kyle DeVilbiss, and Julian Monatlik/Eric Sretavan helped the Giants pick up the win.

Witt Bulger, Emmet McEvilley and Diego Castillo had singles victories for the Red-tailed Hawks.

• Henry Pratt, Johan Jacobs, Dylan Donner and P.J. Krill help Archie Williams sweep the Nos. 1-4 singles matches, respective­ly, for a 5-2 win against San Rafael on Friday. Tyler Benson and James Ward secured one of the two wins for the Bulldogs by pulling out a supertiebr­eaker at No. 2 doubles.

• Marin Academy posted a 4-1 win against BCL West foe San Domenico on Thursday. The Panthers picked up their lone win at No. 2 doubles, courtesy of Arda Kumbaraci and Freddy Nolden.

• Jeffrey Huang, Oliver Goldman, Zander Alpert and Cal Keenley picked up singles victories for Branson as the Bulls rolled to a 7-0 sweep against San Rafael Thursday.

• Kash Conners and Rory Pierce secured a tiebreaker win at No. 2 doubles to lift San Marin to a 4-3 win against Terra Linda. Luca Ratra had a victory at No. 2 singles for the Trojans.
