Nancy Thomas Tornga, 76, passed away on February 11th after a long battle with Leukemia. She is survived by her husband, Tom, sons Todd (MM) and Andrew (Sarah), grandchild­ren, Annie, Jack, Peter, Abby, and Jadwin, and sister, Judy Morrisey. She was predecease­d by her son Scott.

Born in 1947, Nancy was the second of three children and a fifth generation California­n. She grew up in Ross, attended the Ross School, Branson School, Drew School and the College of Marin. Nancy met Tom while living in San Francisco. They later married and moved to Ross where they raised three children - Todd, Scott and Andrew. Nancy and Tom moved to Lake Tahoe in the late 1990’s and settled in Glenbrook, NV in 2005. October marked Nancy and Tom’s 56th wedding anniversar­y.

Nancy was happiest when spending time with her family and was deeply involved in her children’s and grandchild­ren’s lives. She was a voracious reader and loved tennis, skiing, race-walking, traveling, bridge, dominoes and time with friends. She co-owned a successful catering business, served on the Women’s Board at the California Pacific Medical Center, and was a member of the Board of Directors for the Branson School. She was a member of the Lagunitas Country Club in Ross, Town and Country Club in San Francisco, and the Glenbrook Club on Lake Tahoe.

Nancy was a gracious, generous, and loyal mother, wife and friend. She was admired for her perseveran­ce, devotion, and positive spirit. Her bravery and strength were an inspiratio­n to all who knew and loved her.

Her Celebratio­n of Life will be held in April.
