College of Marin rolls to eighth consecutiv­e win

Four different players hit home runs as the College of Marin baseball team rolled to its eighth consecutiv­e victory, 19-3 in seven innings against Mendocino on Saturday.

Wyatt Davis, Skylar Lenihan, Derek Bartram, and Jacob Anteneh went yard for the Mariners (14-8, 3-0 Bay Valley). The Mariners scored four times in the first inning then added 10 more in the second to turn the game into an immediate blowout.

Bartram, a former Novato High standout, had two hits, two RBIs, and scored three times. Former Terra Linda High standout Chris de Langis had two hits, drove in four runs, and scored twice.

Prep baseball

Branson was limited to five hits during a 4-1 loss to Berean Christian on Saturday. Kaden Gustafson drove in the lone run for the Bulls (5-6) with a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.

• San Domenico lost both games of a doublehead­er against South Fork on Saturday, falling 10-5 and 20-5. Alex Tavano had two hits, two RBIs, and scored twice in the first game. Hank Figueroa had two RBIs for the Panthers (2-2) in the second game. South Fork scored 10 runs in each of the first two innings and the game ended in the third.

Prep softball

San Marin surrendere­d four runs in the first inning and four more in the seventh in an 8-1 loss to American Canyon on Saturday. The Mustangs (3-3), who face Marin Catholic in league on Monday, also fell 5-1 against Sonoma Valley on Friday.

College softball

Shelby Keltner had another strong performanc­e as Dominican beat Academy of Art 7-2 in Game 1 of a doublehead­er. The Penguins (16-12, 10-8 PacWest) won 8-2 in the second game.

Keltner went the distance, pitching seven innings while allowing eight hits and two earned runs. Keltner reached base four times, hit a home run and drove in three runs to lead the Penguins.

Olivia Lee, Taylor Rodriguez, and Kate Tobola had three hits apiece for Dominican in Game 2.

Boys lacrosse

Redwood used a big firstquart­er surge to overwhelm De La Salle on Friday in a rematch of last year's North Coast Section Division I championsh­ip game.

The Giants (5-0), who had a bye as league play opened on Thursday, jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first period, then extended that lead to 6-1 at the half. Three more goals in the third put the Giants in front 9-2.

• Marin Catholic, San Marin, and Terra Linda all began league play with victories on Thursday. Marin Catholic rolled to a 20-2 win against Novato, TL shut out Branson 13-0, and San Marin defeated San Rafael 15-3. The

Mustangs followed that up with a 21-7 non-league win against Alhambra. MC fell 11-6 against Sacred Heart Prep on Saturday.

Girls lacrosse

Tam, MC, Branson, and San Marin all started league play with blowout wins on Thursday. The Redtailed Hawks posted a 17-1 victory against Archie Williams while MC took down Novato 15-3. Branson enjoyed a 16-2 victory against TL and San Marin blanked San Rafael 22-0.

Branson boosted its league record to 2-0 with an 18-4 win against Archie Williams on Saturday.

San Marin blasted Petaluma 21-5 in non-league action on Friday. Other nonleague results on Saturday included Redwood falling to St. Ignatius 10-5, Tam falling to St. Vincent de Paul 5-3 and then falling to Sacred Heart Prep 14-10.

• Marin Academy took its first loss of the season against Monte Vista in a battle between two of the top teams in the North Coast Section, falling 10-8 on Saturday. The Wildcats (4-1) trailed 7-6 at the half. MA was the No. 2 seed in last year's D-II playoffs while Monte Vista was the No. 6 seed in D-I.

Boys tennis

Tyler Byrne pulled out the decisive victory at No. 1 singles as Tam edged Archie Williams 4-3 on Friday. Julian Khetawhat had Tam's other singles win at No. 4. Anders Jacobs and Fin Donnelly had wins for Archie Williams at Nos. 2 and 3 singles, respective­ly.

• Tommie Higgins and Griffin Cooper had wins atop the singles ladder for Branson as the Bulls held off Terra Linda 4-3 on Friday. TL's Rupert Atkins persevered at No. 3 singles for a 7-6, 6-7, 10-7 victory against Zander Alpert.

• Oliver Pool, Milo Reyes, and Arseniy Korolev swept the top three singles matches to lead San Marin to a 6-1 win against San Rafael Friday. Pool prevailed at No. 1 singles against Forrest Reilly, 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (7).

• Jack Millar and Andrew Gorcyzcki won the top two singles matches as Marin Catholic swept Novato 7-0 Friday. Qas Vidarthi and Milo Vidyarthi also had singles wins for MC.

Prep swimming

Archie Williams picked up a pair of victories against Branson on Friday, with the girls prevailing 113-50 and the boys earning a 119-50 victory.

Branson got wins from Maeve McAuley (200 IM) and McKenzie Kwei (500 free) in the girls meet, plus Cameron Aryanpour (50 free, 100 fly), and Nate Johnson (100 free) in the boys meet.
