MC's Anderson sets pace on links

Theo Anderson earned low medalist honors with an even-par 35 at Meadow Club to lead Marin Catholic past Branson, 197-219, in a league match on Monday while most other MCAL schools were on spring break. The Wildcats' Lincoln Sylvester shot a 37 and Kaden Halboth carded a 38.

The Bulls' Barry Liu came around at 38. Branson and Marin Catholic are scheduled to play again on Thursday, with just two more weeks remaining in the league schedule before the MCAL tournament on April 29.

Prep baseball

Noah Shapiro, Marcos Tolliver and Jax Kolotkin each had a hit for San Rafael (2-7-1) in Monday's 4-2 loss to host Alameda in the Willie Stargell Tournament. The Bulldogs' Lazlo Clements, Floyd Greene and Lachlan Royston combined to strike out five batters.

Terra Linda (0-9) managed a run in the top of the second inning, before host Albany pounded out 11 runs in the next two innings to beat the Trojans, 12-1, in five innings on Monday.

Prep sailing

Redwood was victorious in both the A and B Division races to secure the winner's trophy at the NorCal Divisional Championship at the Peninsula Youth Sailing Foundation in Redwood City this past weekend.

Morgan Headington and Henry Vare won the A Division race while Mark Xu, Whitney Feagin, Rhett Krawitt, and Akira Bratti competed in the B Division. Redwood's scores in both regattas were combined and left the Giants well in front of second-place Stevenson High.

Mountain biking

Redwood HIgh's Matthew Marroto took first in the boys varsity race and the Giants' Charlotte Philkill was second in the girls varsity race, while Archie Williams took home the team victory from Exchequer Bike Park at the Barrett Cove Recreation Area near La Grange over the weekend. The Peregrine Falcons were led by Simon Hewett and Noah Bott, who finished second and ninth, respectively. The Falcons' Alexandra Stein was fifth overall in the girls race.

Marin Academy's Matisse Buckley was 11th in the boys race. San Domenico's Quinn Joyce took sixth in the girls race, followed by Tam's Johannah Nesbit, who took ninth.
