There are many times I have felt Marlin overlooks the fishing right here in our own backyard: South Florida, the Mid-Atlantic and the Gulf Coast.

I know it’s kind of a crappy thing for me to say after the great compliment I was given by being included in the article on Ocean City [Maryland] versus Stuart [Florida] this past spring [June/July 2016]. But many times the magazine seems to focus on the unattainable destinations and the far away. Not today.

Man, I opened the newest issue [March 2017] ... the Editor’s Letter by Andrew Cox [“Destination USA”] was probably one of the best I have read in a long time. Maybe I am biased because I am fortunate to run in some really cool circles, and the opening column was filled with friends of mine. But either way, kudos to Marlin for spotlighting the good ol’ US of A! Also, congrats to my friends who were mentioned in the editorial — you guys deserve every bit of credit you were given!
