Holden, Baker wed
Eileen and Dennis Holden of Waldorf announce the marriage of their daughter, Grace Elizabeth Holden, to Christopher Ryan Baker, son of Vicky and Kurt Baker of Altoona, Pa.
The wedding ceremony took place 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at C. Barton McCann School of Art in Petersburg, Pa. Dinner and reception followed in the pavilion on the C. Barton McCann School of Art grounds.
The bride was escorted by her father, Dennis Holden. Rosemary Virginia Holden, aunt of the bride, officiated. Music for the ceremony was provided by MintDJ Events. Ceremony readings were performed by Jessica Acker, sister of the groom; Andrew Allender, friend of the groom; and Mary Holden, sister of the bride. Haley Holden and Michele DeForest sang for the bride and groom. Parents of the bride and groom read an Apache wedding blessing.
Matron of honor was Sara Holden Seifert, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Mary Holden, Jessica Baker Acker, Haley Holden, cousin of the bride, and Michele DeForest. Flower girl was Leah Acker, niece of the groom.
Best man was Michael Domen, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Matthew Holden, brother of the bride, Andrew Allender, Eric Miller, and Calvin Ko. Ringbearer was Avery Acker, nephew of the groom. Charles Seifert, brother-in-law of the bride, was the “Lord of the Rings” for the ring warming ceremony.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Henry E. Lackey High School and 2009 graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N.Y., where she earned a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering. She is employed as dry dock engineer at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Wash. She is the granddaughter of Shirley Jean Gill of Sea Isle City, N.J.
The groom is a 2007 graduate of Penn State University, State College, Pa., where he earned a bachelor of science in aerospace engineering. He is employed as safety engineer for the Federal Aviation Administration in Seattle, Wash. He is the grandson of Mary and Donald Baker of Altoona, Pa.
The couple honeymooned in Hawaii and reside in Gig Harbor, Wash.
