La Plata Applebee’s celebrates 10th with party
Applebee’s La Plata is celebrating two major milestones — its 10th anniversary and a head-to-toe renovation — and is hosting an all-day party from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, April 2.
Guests will enjoy half price appetizers along with $2 Bud Light, Coors Light and Miller Lite pints, $3 Long Island iced teas and $4 craft beer bottles all day. One lucky guest will win free appetizers for a year.
La Plata Mayor Roy Hale and local council members will kick off the celebration with a ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m. The day will feature family-friendly entertainment with a moon bounce onsite from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. A Sam Adam’s beer tasting will be held from noon to 2 p.m. with a wine tasting from 5 to 7 p.m.
The restaurant will also host an all-youcan-eat boneless wings competition for charity between the La Plata Police, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office and La Plata Fire Department at 3 p.m.
The Applebee’s location first opened in 2006 and was remodeled for the first time earlier this year. As part of the restaurant’s remodel, staff members auctioned off all the décor from the original design and raised $1,400 for breast cancer awareness. The restaurant is located at 10 Shining Willow Way, La Plata.
