Letter policy

The Maryland Independent welcomes letters on various subjects of interest from our readers. Letters must include the writer’s name, address and telephone number. The phone number will not be published; it is for verification purposes only. We reserve the right to edit or reject all letters. Letters selected may be shortened for space reasons. Keep in mind that brevity is a key consideration in the selection of letters. Mail letters to Letters to the editor, 4475 Regency Place, Suite 301, White Plains, Maryland, 20695 or e-mail them to rperry@somdnews.com. Letters to be considered for Friday’s edition must be received by noon Wednesday. To be considered for Wednesday’s edition, letters must be received by noon Monday.
