Pat Collins Golf Classic fundraiser at new home in Lusby

-

The Arc of Southern Maryland will hold its 14th annual Pat Collins Golf Classic at Chesapeake Hills Golf Course in Lusby on May 26. The fundraiser starts with registration and check-in at 7:30 a.m. with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.

The tournament was held at the Twin Shields Golf Course in Dunkirk until it closed last year.

Along with the new venue, this year’s tournament reflects another milestone for the organization — 40 years of service to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. The goal is to raise $40,000 in commemoration of the agency’s years of service.

The annual tournament is held in honor of Pat Collins, a former Arc board president. Collins worked tirelessly for years to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabili- ties in Southern Maryland, according to an Arc press release. “The Arc of Southern Maryland sponsors this tournament as a living memorial to my father,” John Collins, son of Pat Collins, said in the release. “Those who serve as sponsors, players and supporters allow The Arc to carry-on the mission to which my father was committed.”

The tournament includes a continental breakfast, buffet lunch and various putting contests with prizes. Golfers can purchase mulligans and will receive a gift bag for playing.

Tournament proceeds will be used to support The Arc’s residential, community supported living, day support, employment support and respite care programs.
