Clinton woman killed in two vehicle accident in Brandywine

A woman was killed and several people injured Thursday in a two vehicle collision in Brandywine, authoritie­s report.

Police have identified the woman as Willow Kearse Rice, 68, of Clinton.

On May 12 at approximat­ely 8:21 p.m., Maryland State Police troopers responded to U.S. 301 near Chadds Ford Road for a reported motor vehicle accident.

Investigat­ion revealed that Rice was in the front passenger seat of a Nissan Maxima as it traveled northbound on 301.

For unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the vehicle and entered the southbound lanes. An oncoming Ford Expedition then collided into the passenger side of the Maxima, according to authoritie­s.

Rice was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and a backseat passenger of the Maxima were taken by helicopter to Prince George’s Hospital Center for their injuries.

All six occupants of the Expedition were transporte­d by ambulance to a local hospital to be treated.
