J.C. Parks former principal Wright will be missed

- Karen Dresser, White Plains

When your article on the placement of principals in Charles County came out recently, I was saddened that Thadine Wright has been moved from J.C. Parks Elementary School. She is an amazing principal. Mrs. Wright sets a high bar for the students, and the students reach that bar. My daughter has a phenomenal foundation for her future learning because of Mrs. Wright and the staff at J.C. Parks. I have seen Mrs. Wright in numerous situations where a child (or adult) had an out of the ordinary need, and she met that need. I’ve personally had her go beyond what I needed to have my daughter’s needs met. Mrs. Wright and her staff have a run a seamless program at J.C. Parks. The children have been safe, well educated, developed confidence and (at least mine) enjoyed being at school.

I will whole-heartedly welcome the new principal and am sure he will be wonderful; however, I want for the community to know how important Mrs. Wright has been for J.C. Parks and for my family. May the J.P. Ryon community welcome her with open arms.
