Man killed in motorcycle accident
A man was killed in a single vehicle accident on Thursday night after his motorcycle struck a curb near the intersection of Matthews Road and Marshall Hall Road in Indian Head, causing him to crash, according to authorities.
Police have identified the motorcyclist as Adam Harley Rogers, 32, of Indian Head, and are currently investigating the
circumstances of the crash.
On July 21 at 11:50 p.m., Charles County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the area of Matthews Road and Marshall Hall Road for a reported motorcycle accident. Upon arrival, officers found Rogers unconscious, but he regained consciousness a short time after the crash, a press release states. Authorities were preparing to airlift him to a hospital when he stopped breathing. First–responders tried to resuscitate him through CPR as he was taken by ambulance to the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center, but he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
This was the 10th traffic fatality of the year in Charles County.
Sgt. Jon Burroughs of the sheriff’s office traffic operations unit is investigating.
