Man killed in mo­tor­cy­cle ac­ci­dent

A man was killed in a sin­gle ve­hi­cle ac­ci­dent on Thurs­day night af­ter his mo­tor­cy­cle struck a curb near the in­ter­sec­tion of Matthews Road and Mar­shall Hall Road in In­dian Head, caus­ing him to crash, ac­cord­ing to author­i­ties.

Po­lice have iden­ti­fied the mo­tor­cy­clist as Adam Har­ley Rogers, 32, of In­dian Head, and are cur­rently in­ves­ti­gat­ing the

cir­cum­stances of the crash.

On July 21 at 11:50 p.m., Charles County Sher­iff’s Of­fice deputies re­sponded to the area of Matthews Road and Mar­shall Hall Road for a re­ported mo­tor­cy­cle ac­ci­dent. Upon ar­rival, of­fi­cers found Rogers un­con­scious, but he re­gained con­scious­ness a short time af­ter the crash, a press re­lease states. Author­i­ties were pre­par­ing to air­lift him to a hos­pi­tal when he stopped breath­ing. First–re­spon­ders tried to re­sus­ci­tate him through CPR as he was taken by ambulance to the Univer­sity of Mary­land Charles Re­gional Med­i­cal Cen­ter, but he was pro­nounced dead shortly there­after.

This was the 10th traf­fic fa­tal­ity of the year in Charles County.

Sgt. Jon Bur­roughs of the sher­iff’s of­fice traf­fic op­er­a­tions unit is in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
