La Plata Town Council will meet 7 p.m. at La Plata Town Hall, 305 Queen Anne St., La Plata.

Wednesday, Aug. 17

Indian Head Planning Commission will meet 7 p.m. at the Village Green Pavilion, 100 Walter Thomas Road, Indian Head. Western Charles Democratic Club will meet for its annual picnic at Penny’s Estates, located on Marbury-Pisgah Road, Marbury, at 6 p.m., featuring fried chicken and all the trimmings.
