The following items were compiled from Charles County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Suspect arrested for hitting man with gun, shooting at him

At 9:38 p.m. on Aug. 27, officers responded to the 3500 block of Curtis Place in Brandywine for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a man with a gunshot wound to his finger. A preliminar­y investigat­ion showed the victim was arguing with the suspect — a relative — during which the suspect hit him with a gun and then shot at him, striking his finger. The victim was treated for his injury. The suspect, Raymond Jerome Curtis, 56, of Brandywine was charged with first-degree assault. Det. J. Austin is investigat­ing.

Indian Head residence burglarize­d

Sometime between Aug. 23 and Aug. 24, someone broke into a house in the area of Summit Court in Indian Head and stole multiple electronic­s. Pfc. J. Harley is investigat­ing.

Police investigat­ing Indian Head burglary

On Aug. 22, during the day time hours, someone broke into a house in the 4700 block of Mason Springs Road in Indian Head and stole electronic­s. Officer J. Jackson is investigat­ing.

Detectives charge man for two armed robberies

On Aug. 27, members of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigat­ions Division charged Terrance Rudolph Cooks, 48, of Indian Head in connection with two armed robberies that occurred earlier that day at a Dash-In in Indian Head and a CVS in Bryans Road. During the robberies, Cooks entered the store, implied he had a gun and demanded money. Investigat­ors were able to quickly identify Cooks as the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant. Cooks was located and arrested without incident. He was subsequent­ly charged with two counts of robbery. Det. C. Gregory and Det. R. Johnson investigat­ed.

Man arrested for armed robbery

On Aug. 25, detectives assigned to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigat­ions Division arrested Antwon James Sockwell, 26, of Washington, D.C., in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on July 22 in the area of St. Marks Drive and Huntington Woods Drive in Waldorf. During the robbery, Sockwell allegedly approached two male victims, displayed a handgun, assaulted the victims, and stole their property. Sockwell was developed as a suspect and an arrest warrant was obtained; he was located at an address in Washington, D.C. Sockwell was charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault and second-degree assault. Det. J. Feldman is investigat­ing.
