Charles County Board of Education will celebrate 100 Years of Education 6-9 p.m. Sept. 2 at the Port Tobacco Courthouse, 8430 Commerce St. A presentation, “Education: Then and Now” will be followed by breakout sessions including a trip to the Port Tobacco One Room School. Event is the first of three presentations in a series exploring the history of the school board and education in Charles County over the past 100 years. Charles County Master Gardeners will hold a plant clinic 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 3 at Waldorf Farmers Market, O’Donnell and St. Patrick’s Drive. Public encouraged to bring samples of diseased or infected plants, leaves, or any garden and landscape problems for Master Gardeners to troubleshoot.
