First phase of new Hughesvill­e CSM campus underway

The College of Southern Maryland’s 74-acre Regional Hughesvill­e Campus at 6170 Hughesvill­e Station Place is starting to take shape with the constructi­on of the project’s first phase — the 30,000-square-foot Center for Trades and Energy Training (CTET) — well underway with anticipate­d opening during the 2017 spring semester. The new CTET in its central location will provide specialize­d training in career fields that have substantia­l growth potential such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical, welding, and heating, ventilatio­n and air conditioni­ng (HVAC). The second phase for the Regional Hughesvill­e Campus will be constructi­on of a state-of-the-art Health Sciences facility. The master plan for the regional campus also includes a fine arts center, a field house, athletic fields and additional classrooms.
