First phase of new Hugh­esville CSM cam­pus un­der­way

The Col­lege of South­ern Mary­land’s 74-acre Re­gional Hugh­esville Cam­pus at 6170 Hugh­esville Sta­tion Place is start­ing to take shape with the con­struc­tion of the project’s first phase — the 30,000-square-foot Cen­ter for Trades and En­ergy Train­ing (CTET) — well un­der­way with an­tic­i­pated open­ing dur­ing the 2017 spring se­mes­ter. The new CTET in its cen­tral lo­ca­tion will pro­vide spe­cial­ized train­ing in ca­reer fields that have sub­stan­tial growth po­ten­tial such as plumb­ing, car­pen­try, elec­tri­cal, weld­ing, and heat­ing, ven­ti­la­tion and air con­di­tion­ing (HVAC). The sec­ond phase for the Re­gional Hugh­esville Cam­pus will be con­struc­tion of a state-of-the-art Health Sciences fa­cil­ity. The mas­ter plan for the re­gional cam­pus also in­cludes a fine arts cen­ter, a field house, ath­letic fields and ad­di­tional class­rooms.
