Proud of historic family ties

I enjoyed your editorial and articles about the survivors of the Pearl Harbor attack. I have a picture of the USS Oglala (formerly the USS Shawmut) on my wall next to a picture of my grandfather who served on the Shawmut between the world wars after he enlisted in the Navy at the age of 15. The Oglala/ Shawmut had a long Navy career before being sunk at Pearl Harbor. I am proud that my grandfather, Herman L. Semrau, served on the same ship as Clarence Davis. Steven W. Brennan, Waldorf
