Early learning academy scouts Waldorf area

Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academies, a national early childhood education franchise, announced it is looking to add locations in communitie­s in Maryland, including Waldorf, St. Charles and White Plains.

“Early childhood education is a growing industry and an ideal franchise opportunit­y for entreprene­urs based on the growing importance of invest- ing in the future of our nation’s children,” CEO David Vinson said in a news release. “Given the success we’ve experience­d at our current Kids ‘R’ Kids Learning Academy in Virginia, there is a great opportunit­y for growth, and the Mid-Atlantic region will continue to be a strong focus for our brand’s future developmen­t.”

The Duluth, Ga.-based business has been in operation for more than 30 years.

The company offers a variety of curriculum programs designed for infants through prekinderg­arten. Its proprietar­y First Class Curriculum is designed specifical­ly for every developmen­tal stages of education with theme-based units, specific learning activities and teacher-friendly lesson plans.

This year, Kids ‘R’ Kids launched a music curriculum called Color Soundation, which was developed by noted Los Angeles-based musician and teacher Shiho Yamamoto, to teach very young children the fundamenta­ls of music through the integratio­n and interplay of colors with sounds.

The learning academies provide early education and care for children from six weeks through 12 years of age at its nearly 160 schools located in 16 states. Programs offered to children include infant care, toddler and preschoole­r care, private pre-K and kindergart­en, before- and after-school care and summer camp.
