Woodlands celebrate 50th anniversary
James R. Woodland and Judith A. (Thomas) recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. The Charles County natives were married March 11, 1967, in La Plata at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
James Royce is a graduate of Pomonkey High School before joining the U.S. Army. Judith Ann is a graduate of La Plata High School.
They are the proud parents of two children James R. Woodland Jr. and Melicia T. Woodland-West, son-in-law Lamont A. West, a grandchild Alfred Durham Jr., and a great-grandchild Aidan W.R. Durham.
Both are retired from the D.C. and Federal government respectively. They are active members of their community and currently serve as devout members of Union Bethel Church in Brandywine. The couple attribute the success of their marriage to prayer, trust and patience.
