The Charles County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a stabbing incident in which a Nanjemoy man was reportedly stabbed by another male during an altercation Saturday evening.

According to reports, the stabbing occurred at 10:28 p.m. in the 4000 block of Tims Place in Nanjemoy. Police reports said the male victim, 22, was attacked and stabbed in the abdominal cavity.

The incident appears to have begun at a party where the victim was involved in an argument with Tramane Dorsey, 24, of Newburg. Details as to why the two were arguing are unknown.

After the fracas, Dorsey allegedly stabbed the victim then fled the scene. Shortly after the incident, police were called to the location, where they located the victim with a stab wound to his abdomen. The victim was flown to MedStar Washington Hospital Center for treatment.

The sheriff’s office used a K-9 unit to search the area and Dorsey was located nearby.

According to court documents, Dorsey was charged with first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment. Bail was set at $50,000.
