Francis Travers of Waldorf earned a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology during Georgia Tech’s Commencement exercises on May 5-6, 2017.

Michael H. Dillon of Waldorf graduated with a bachelor of arts in economics from University of Nevada at Las Vegas on May 13, 2017.
Mary Margaret Mills of Bel Alton graduated cum laude from University of South Carolina with leadership and distinction in research on May 6, 2017. Mills earned a bachelor of science in biochemistry and molecular biology. She is a member of the Tau Sigma and Phi Theta Kappa honor societies.
Haddaway, Brockmann named to dean’s list at University of Delaware
Caroline Haddaway of Port Tobacco and Emily Brockmann of La Plata were named to the dean’s list at University of Delaware for the spring 2017 semester.
Fitzsimmons earns degree from Widener University
Laura Fitzsimmons of Welcome received a bachelor of arts in education from the School of Education, Hospitality, and Continuing Studies at Widener University on May 20, 2017.
Hodgson named to dean’s list at George Washington University
Kevin Hodgson of Waldorf was named to the dean’s list at George Washington University for the spring 2017 semester. Students receive this honor by earning a minimum semester grade point average of 3.75.
Hodgson is a 2014 graduate of North Point High School. He is a finance major at the university.
Hankins named to honors list at Missouri Univ. of Science and Tech.
Erik Matthew Hankins of Waldorf was named to the Missouri University of Science and Technology honor list for the Spring 2017 semester. To be included on the honor list, students must have carried a minimum of 12 hours and had grade point averages of 3.2 or above out of a possible 4.0. Hankins is a junior electrical engineering major.
Molly McGowan of Charlotte Hall recently graduated summa cum laude from Bard College at Simon’s Rock with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics and Theology. McGowan attended Chopticon High School before starting college early.
Spalding named to dean’s list at Marymount University
Rachel Spalding of Hughesville was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2017 semester. Spalding is majoring in nursing at the Malek School of Health Professions.
