Rideout leaders recently acknowledged they are considering affiliating with another hospital group, although they could not say which groups are being considered or what the definition of “affiliation” would be.
Sutter County Supervisor Dan Flores said his constituents have expressed a lot of curiosity about a possible affiliation, since the announcement. He said he has seen the hospital make improvements over the past few years, but community members have concerns over the hospital’s credit rating.
Flores said he had heard rumors the hospital’s credit rating was downgraded again but had not seen anything about it.
“If these rumors are true, that means resources and finances need to improve, and whoever the affiliate ends up being needs to help the hospital improve on those areas,” Flores said. “So I’m hoping the governance board is considering all of this for the community’s sake. This hospital is a community asset.”
